Global Responsibility

Films at 59 takes stewardship of our planet and community seriously. Our working philosophy fosters a company-wide commitment to our team, the wider industry and our local & global communities. We know that being truly sustainable, in all that we do, is only possible when we all work together. Our ‘we engage because we care’ approach applies to all aspects of our business: from client care to employee recruitment to net zero planning and living. Together with our staff, clients and suppliers we work to create an environment of respect and appreciation, that champions innovation, creativity and dedication. We recognise that sharing knowledge, collaborating and living responsibly, are all ways we can respect one another and our planet.

Founded in 1990, we have grown to a team of over 150 staff and sites in Bristol and Cardiff. Our can-do, solution orientated work ethic is the heart of what we do. In 2021 we proudly became an Employee Benefit Trust, committed to creating a diverse working environment, where we value and respect every individual’s unique contribution.

We enable our employees to thrive and achieve their full potential, partnering with Skillset and ACAS to bring new ideas and training to our staff. We partner with universities and colleges, including BoomSatsuma, UWE and the University of Bath, to create new initiatives to find and develop talent for future of our industry. We value our client relationships, encouraging partnerships and shared learning, and seeking solutions to every problem.

We believe the future is brighter, if we are prepared to work smart, think holistically and be committed to our clients and teammates.

Our Educational Partners

Films@59 has been an Industry partner of the Boomsatsuma Film School since it launched in 2022, having already been great supporters of Boomsatsuma FE. The many things the company has done for our students include tours of facilities alongside the chance to chat to Editors, Colourists and Sound Mixers, employing students as P/T Runners, coordinating a project enabling students to work with the company on Idents for the new website and Gina herself taking the time to visit and talk to students about the opportunities in the Film and Television Industry.
Freya Billington, Head of film School Boomsatsuma Film School
Learning with Films@59 is inspirational for our students. The facilities are world class and the experience is something which stays with students forever. Above all else, though, it is the way staff at Films@59 take the time and effort to support the students learning which keeps us coming back year after year.
Andrew Glester, Lecturer in Wildlife Film and Media and Science Communication UWE Bristol
Working with prestigious post-production houses like Films at 59 gives our students an invaluable insight into the inner working of the TV industry, develops their confidence and gives them those all-important contacts for when they leave University.
