I’m an experienced offline editor who has been making factual TV for 20 years now, most of it as a staff member at BBC London Factual. While there I crafted countless presenter-led Horizon programmes for BBC 2.
Since leaving 4 years ago I have worked for a wide variety of channels and often for American audiences on other science shows such as How The Universe Works for Discovery, exploration programmes like Jungle Mystery: Lost Kingdoms of the Amazon for Channel 4 and National Geographic and natural history with Animals After Dark for Channel 5.
Over the years I’m become quite used to working on my own with just a shooting script for company, writing commentary to build a story.
I’m proud to say that David Attenborough has even read in some of my jokes verbatim.
Consequently I was well prepared for working remotely throughout lockdown. I haven’t actually met my last 4 edit producers, yet all my projects have finished on budget and on time.
Having said that I am eager to get back into the edit suite to collaborate with real people again as soon as possible.
