Martin has been editing films for television over the past 25 years. He worked for the BBC from 1978 and has been freelance since 1990. In addition to his television work he has recently edited two films for cinema release.
Although he is normally known for his work on many of the big ‘blue chip’ series made by the BBC natural History Unit, he has often worked with independent producers and production companies, both in this country and abroad, on a diverse range of challenging films. He has also been involved in the pre-production development of several of these projects.
Martin has received several editing awards from international festivals including two ‘best editing’ awards from the Missoula Film Festival and a Royal Television Society award for editing. He has been nominated for a Primetime EMMY award and five times nominated for BAFTA awards.
